Why Curl bed

Curl up into a ball and miss nothing.

Some dogs sleep stretched out like stars. Others circle around before bed, dig, stamp down a spot, and then curl up with their nose to their tail.

This position is more than just comfortable for a dog. A curled-up body holds warmth and protects the belly. It’s a natural way to feel safe.

We designed Curl bed precisely for these dogs. The bolster wraps around them from all sides, giving them something to lean their back and sides against. Only one place remains open – the entrance. And it’s not there by accident.

Design

Body safe, view clear.

Standard round beds have a rim all the way around. The dog curls up in them, but either buries its head inside or has to rest it over the high rim.

Curl bed has an entrance in the front. The dog rests its head on it, comfortably at mattress level, and can see everything happening in the room. Meanwhile, its back is supported and the rest of its body is hidden behind the bolster.

Many dogs look for such a place on their own – under the table, in a corner, with their backs to the couch. They like having their back covered and eyes on the action. Curl bed offers them both in one place.

More freedom than you’d expect from a circle

The entrance isn’t just a window into the room. When the dog doesn’t feel like sleeping curled up, it can stretch its paws through it, stretch out across the bed, or rest its head on the rounded end of the bolster. Curl bed is its favorite position, not the only possible one.

The bed is entered through the entrance, not over a high rim. Puppies, small breeds, and senior dogs who no longer feel like jumping will appreciate this.

Healthy sleep

For comfort in every position

When a dog is curled up, it lies on a smaller surface. Body weight is concentrated mainly in the hip, lower back, and shoulder – the areas that feel the pressure of a hard surface first.

That is why Curl bed has an orthopedic mattress made of the same materials as our other orthopedic Lebedas – 8 cm thick, 9 cm for size XXL. The bottom PUR foam provides firm and even support for the whole body. The top layer of memory foam softens upon heating, adapts to the body, and relieves pressure on joints.

The mattress holds its shape, so it won’t flatten out.

The mattress stays dry

Between the cover and the mattress is a waterproof protector made of 100% organic cotton. Wet fur after a rainy walk, drool, or minor accidents will not reach the foam.

The protector is bordered with elastic, so it is easy to put on and stays in place. You can take it off and wash it in the washing machine.

Velvet fabric

Ready for circling and digging

Dogs that sleep in a curl often thoroughly prepare their spot first. They circle, dig, and circle again. Our velvet is built for this.

Originally created as upholstery fabric for premium sofas. It has a weight of 418 g/m² and an abrasion resistance of up to 100,000 Martindale cycles. At the same time, it is soft and pleasant to the touch. If you catch yourself stroking the bed instead of your dog, you aren’t the first.

Easy maintenance

You can vacuum pet hair off it or wipe it away with a damp cloth. When needed, you can remove the cover and wash it in the washing machine at 30 °C.

Every Curl bed bed is sewn by Slovak seamstresses in our workshop. With strong threads and an emphasis on seams that must withstand even the most thorough digging.

And then we check it once more.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Curl bed and Snug bed?

Both have an orthopedic mattress made of PUR and memory foam with a waterproof protector. They differ in shape. Snug bed is for creative sleepers – on one side the dog curls up, on the other it stretches out. Curl bed wraps around them almost all the way – it’s a bed for dogs that sleep mainly curled up.

Can a dog that occasionally stretches out fit into the bed too?

Yes. Through the entrance, they can stick out their paws or head and stretch across the bed. However, if they sleep stretched out most of the time, they will be more comfortable in Snug bed or Flat bed.

What size to choose?

With Klbko, you don’t need to take a larger size. A dog curled up feels best when its back touches the bolster. Measure your dog and compare the dimensions with the size chart. If you hesitate, write to us.

Will the bolster sag over time?

The bolster is filled to hold its shape long-term. If it should soften over time, you can refill the filling via the zipper. You can purchase the filling here.

How is the bed washed?

You can machine wash the velvet cover at 30-40 °C on a gentle cycle, and the waterproof protector at 40 °C. The mattress and bolster are not washable. You can remove hair and dirt from them with a vacuum cleaner, a damp cloth, or a lint roller.

Is it suitable for cats as well?

Yes. Cats also like curling up and having a view. From reviews of our Lebedas, we know that a cat will often claim the bed before a dog does.

What if the dog tears the cover?

We will sew it in Rrepair shop – one service is free. Plus, you can buy each part separately, so you don’t have to replace the whole bed.

When will the bed arrive?

If we have your size and color in stock, we will ship the bed within 2 working days at the latest. If we are sewing it to order, we will ship it within 7 working days. Embroidering a name extends delivery by approximately 5-7 working days.

Can I get my dog's name embroidered?

Yes. We will embroider your dog’s name on the front of the bolster.
